With more than 3000 children taking part in this year's event, The Australian Conservation Foundation showcase the fantastic artworks at an online event on 7th September 2021 National Threatened spaces day.   The artworks created by children help to raise awareness of Australia's threatened animals and plants.

Students reflections whilst creating the artwork.
Moved by the disturbing TV images of injured koala joeys (during the recent NSW bushfires) our youngest Art Box Workshop students felt compelled to choose this threatened species for their group work.

It depicts frightened babies clinging to their caring mothers who were searching for ways to escape the raging fire, destroying their homes in its wake.
The students were trying to highlight the need for better land management processes and urgent climate change action and the importance of caring for a national icon.
Each Student learned how to draw koalas, they then created a print of their favourite drawing and as a group, they painted the fire threatened gumtree forest.

Thank you for your collaboration and creativity
