Art Box School Holiday Workshops

Drawing is always the foundation and with our guidance and direction, students will learn how to translate their sketches into, paintings, sculptures and prints. Each term children create works on paper to develop an understanding of how they will approach their significant framed work, canvas painting or sculpture.

Inspired by our neighbourhood cockatoos, this workshop is designed for younger students. Learn to draw a portrait of a cockatoo and explore textural painting techniques to bring its feathers and crest to life. Create a unique, colourful watercolour background to complete your masterpiece. Each student will take home their framed artwork at the end of the day!

This workshop is designed for older students who will learn how to draw their ducks and create unique designs for colour choices. They will also learn how to build a structure (armature) to support their sculpture and develop skills in sculpting with clay. Julia will provide step-by-step demonstrations throughout the day. "Rabbit" Sculpture in air-drying clay.

Wednesday, 24th of April, 6 - 8 years old.

 This workshop is perfect for younger students who will learn to draw their chosen Easter rabbits and build a structure (armature) to support their sculpture. They will be free to paint their rabbit in any colour, whether natural fur or a more bright decorative style. Julia will provide step-by-step demonstrations throughout the day, guiding students from sketching a design to handling the properties of clay. Each child will take home their clay rabbit sculpture!
